Dear Gratitude Journal  :

With the world in a collective dumpster fire, and so much personal and collective change, it’s really hard to focus on simple gratitude, but when I began my gratitude journal (many, many years ago), I felt equally overwhelmed by events. I guess I’m grateful for the perspective and knowing I am not alone in this emotion.

I’m grateful for good men. I’ve spent the last 25 years working with mostly guys, and I’m a fan of the species. Thankfully, red pill genes will not reproduce.

I’m grateful to all the women who have come forward in all the abuse “scandals.” (Perhaps we should just call them “crimes”). I recall as a child my father explaining prostitution to me and “That’s why prostitutes are arrested….” I immediately asked, “What about the man? Isn’t he arrested?” He sat there in silence a moment then said, “No, because he wouldn’t have done anything if she wasn’t there….” Interesting, how little things have changed…

And, despite this heavy, painful shift, I’m very grateful for change. The pen is mightier than the sword. Social media has shined light into a lot of dark, ugly spaces. It might take a bit, but we will clean this up.. I love the smell of bleach in the morning….

The end.
