Dear Gratitude Journal

Pooja and I were attacked by a neighbor’s dog. My injuries were minor, Pooja was not so lucky. She required stitches and is now resting comfortably. I’m tremendously grateful for the vet and her team, and even more grateful Pooja’s injuries were not life-threatening. I’m grateful the dog’s owner immediately took complete responsibility, and I’m grateful that I have Square, so I could easily take his credit card. :/ I’m grateful I have years of working with people who have colossally fucked up. Somehow being level headed, empathetic, and kind makes them feel even worse. (He was exceedingly emotionally upset) And, most importantly, I am grateful that it was us and wasn’t some kid in my neighborhood. What a day…

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

Pooja and I found a new dog park. I was anxious about going because the OC is full of Karens and Kens (aka GI Joes), and I was unsure of my pup’s behavior. I’m grateful that she did well, and everyone was friendly and chill. I’m grateful today required no air conditioning. And, I’m so grateful for every doctor, nurse, tech, admin and the massive number of health care professionals who work every day…with all kinds of <!@#$%@!!> people…to help us – literally – to live through this. So fortunate are we for their training and dedication.

The end.
