Dear Gratitude Journal  :

2026 begins clean, bright, and shiny. I’m grateful for the garden – the slowest of all the performing arts. My plants know they are loved, and I know that they appreciate my care. #universalenergy

I’m grateful for a warm, dry house with no leaks and no flooding. Something not to be taken for granted.

I’m very grateful I weigh less now than I did last year. Health is wealth.

And, I’m grateful for all the lessons and practice in 2025.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

The NYE inflection point has arrived. This has been a tumultuous year, no doubt. I’m grateful to be here – a little beat up, but in many ways better, stronger, more focused, and more resilient. There’s lots of change ahead for me – for us all – and I feel it’s right on time.

I’m grateful for the light rainfall throughout the day. Almost an earthly insistence for us to rest and rejuvenate. I’m heeding the call.

And, I’m grateful for all the cops and security people who are working tonight. I hope everyone stays safe…

Happy New Year!

Dear Gratitude Journal :

I’m grateful I don’t have to work next week. I found myself thinking about how many holidays I have worked through over the years. The Thanksgivings, Christmas Eve, New Year’s and more. I’m very grateful for the people who work on these days, and double grateful it’s not me anymore. #boundaries And, I’m grateful that I am a trusting person. Yes, I get burned and sometimes make mistakes, but I’d rather be occasionally disappointed than always suspicious.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal  :

Lots of rain in and around our local mountains. I’m grateful that we got a nice soak, no flooding, and I awoke to a bright, shiny Christmas Day. I’m grateful for the thoughtfulness of my neighbors. Homemade treats are rare these days. I’m at maximum sugar capacity for sure. I’m definitely grateful I don’t enjoy overeating or even sweets as much as I used to. I’m looking forward to getting back to turkey, Tilapia, and salad. Real growth. The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

I’m grateful for the return of the light. Winter solstice is always a bit of a somber day. Even with the rush of Christmas, I cannot shake the feeling that 2026 will be a very different year, and we need these next few weeks to rest, reflect, and realign. I’m grateful I had time to tend to the garden before our big rainstorms. And, even though everyone says it, I’m very grateful for my friends. I feel honored to have people in my life who have been putting up with my shit for decades, and they still love and support me. Amazing. The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

Fixing my sprinklers is my least favorite DIY chore as it involves carefully digging through mud and cutting thru roots to ultimately uncover someone’s gross incompetence. But, since I had to be wet and covered with mud, and annoyed, I’m grateful it was 90° and not 50°. I’m grateful for petunias and pansies. They’re sturdy, cheap, and colorful. And I’m grateful that the weather allowed me to spent some time in the garden, which is my favorite place to be.

The end.
