Today was a day that I really didn’t feel like going anywhere or talking to anyone, and I’m so glad that I didn’t have to… I’m grateful to have multiple heat sources. Trying to sleeping when it’s too cold or too hot is just horrible. And I’m grateful for email. Sometimes I remember what life was like before email. It was slow.

Dear Gratitude Journal :
For most of my adult life, I didn’t pay much attention to President’s day. The first real long-weekend after the Holidays was more of a reprieve from work than a remembrance of Presidents’ past. Today is very different. Washington’s great contribution was to refuse the monarchy for the republic; Lincoln’s died trying to hold the union together while battling a bunch of white supremacists. I’m very grateful for them. It will never be just another holiday anymore. I’m grateful for the collective sigh of relief and noticeable lack of anxiety everyone seems to be feeling. And, I’m grateful for the big drop in Covid cases and deaths. I feel we may have rounded the corner.

Dear Gratitude Journal :
This has been a long start to the new year, and I’m grateful that Trump finally seems to be in our rear view mirror. I’m grateful for hot showers. They always make you feel better. And, I’m grateful for a fresh start, for me, for others, and for our country.

Dear Gratitude Journal :
Even though I spent most of Super Bowl Sunday working, I’m grateful that I accomplished a lot before my busy week begins. Being self-employed isn’t always conference calls in your underwear. I’m grateful that I have a health sense of suspicion. Some people think I’m too suspicious, but I find those criticisms dubious. And, I’m grateful for the daffodils that are sprouting all over the garden. Spring is on its way.

Dear Gratitude Journal :
I’m grateful to whomever invented Asian fusion. It’s not the fried chicken and potato salad that I grew up on, but I think it’s my favorite cuisine now. I’m grateful for those cold compress ice packs because I am always swollen or injured. I’m grateful I was able to accomplish a lot today even though I am feeling kinda puny.

Dear Gratitude Journal :
I’m grateful that I pulled the lawn out and planted the gardens instead. The gardens are far more satisfying. I’m grateful I’m a hard worker. Just because you work hard doesn’t mean that you will be successful, but if you’re going to be lazy, you better be born rich. And, even though I don’t eat sausage very often anymore, I’m grateful for kielbasa.
The end.
Dear Gratitude Journal :
For nine months a year, I’m grateful that my office is in the coldest room in the house. Today, I’m grateful that I bought a space heater last year. I’m grateful that I finished work early and did a little cleaning. Normally, I’d like to go out, but nothing makes you feel better and in more control of your life than a clean house that smells like PineSol.
The end.
Dear Gratitude Journal :
I’m grateful for a cloudy, quiet Monday where I was able to accomplish what I needed without any additional inconvenience. It’s the best you can hope for any Monday. I’m grateful for a huge drop in political drama. It’s nice to see news about other things and other non-political people. We all need a broader view; there’s many important things to think about. And, I’m grateful for my cordless vacuum. Truly a great invention.
The end.
Dear Gratitude Journal :
Today I’m reminded how grateful I am to be nominated. No, you can’t always win – and you shouldn’t always win – but it’s important to compete and have some game. As much as I prefer small shops, I’m grateful for BIG stores. I do feel a little safer in them. Finally, I’m grateful I have an extra fridge in the garage. Isn’t everybody?
The end.
Dear Gratitude Journal :
This has been a busy week, and it’s hard to believe that we are ending January. I’m grateful for the progress I’ve seen from the administration on climate change. I don’t want to keep living through horrible fires and floods. I’m grateful that winter has arrived in SoCal. It’s good to have small seasons; the plants need to sleep. And, I’m grateful for all the very cordial and kind people I’ve spoken to this week. It certainly makes the days much, much brighter and easier when you interact with happy people.
