Dear Gratitude Journal :

I’ve slept very well these past few days, and I’m grateful for the hopefulness and optimism I feel. I’m grateful my knee has recovered from it’s short-term injury. Walking cannot be over-estimated. I’m grateful to finally get some rain. And, I’m grateful for all the Bernie memes. I think we’re all ready for much lighter political humor.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

My cultural anthropologist friend reminded me of the importance of ceremonies and rituals, and how they bind us to each other by reaffirming our common values and destiny. I’m grateful for her insights, and also grateful that not everyone is a business major. The world needs artists, musicians, cultural anthropologists, and poets, too. I’m grateful to finally turn the page on our long national nightmare. I slept well, and it was nice to awaken to news about reality. And, I’m grateful for fish. It’s easy to prepare, you really can’t screw it up, and it’s good for you.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

There isn’t anyone who doesn’t feel a good deal of worry and trepidation as this week begins. I’ve grown weary of worry and trepidation, which is why I am so grateful that no matter what else transpires, this week will bring an end to the Trump presidency. I’m also grateful to have an administration that will focus on Covid, not on golf and tweets. I’m grateful GPS is on our phones. And, I’m grateful to all the troops who are protecting and defending our country, our Constitution, and our democracy against this horrible man and his mob of terrorists.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

I’ve been working for almost 40 years now, and I’ve had both clients and employers ask, insist, and threaten me to do things for them that were illegal. In more than one case, the refusal cost me my job. So, as I sit in my beautiful home, free to do anything I desire, I’m grateful that my integrity means more to me than money or some shitty job. I’m grateful that my name will never be listed as “defendant.” And, I’m grateful for frozen pizza. Yeah, I they’re not as good as fresh, but we’ve all eaten ’em.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

I know I speak for everyone when I say that I’m very, very grateful for a peaceful day. I’m grateful to have Trump banned from — and his Bots scanned from — social media. You want to be a bad-ass and overthrow the government? Don’t expect the government you’re trying to overthrow to GAF about your “right” to Twitter. I’m grateful for the FBI – never thought I’d be sayin’ that – and, despite it all, I’m grateful for social media. It’s shown the best and the worst of us. I’m determined to focus on the good stuff.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

It’s all over except for the whining and lawsuits, and I’m very, very grateful to every single GA voter who helped make history today. I feel more positive about the future than I have in….four years! I’m grateful that my nephew and niece-in-law had a health baby girl last night. A happy family. And, I’m grateful for chicken fingers. Usually, I give the finger to the dog, but a little batter and deep-frying can do wonders.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

Even though I’m grateful for my job, I don’t think too many people came bouncing into work today. That’s okay. I’m grateful the year begins. I’m grateful for books, and for people who can write well. And I’m grateful that I’m only a 1/2 pound overweight. Given the mass cookies ingested these past two weeks, a half pound is indeed something for which to be grateful!

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

I awoke New Year’s Day feeling a bit disappointed. It felt like just like another day. But as the day progressed, I began to feel lighter and more optimistic. I’m grateful 2020 is truly in the past. I’m grateful I have a few more days off to clean, organize, and do some planning. And, I’m grateful for champagne. A great invention.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

The year is soon to be over, and a chronological fresh start is upon us. I’m grateful to have a little psychological runway before I start 2021 in earnest. I’m grateful for perogies. Especially when they come with bacon and sauerkraut. It’s not health food, but I love them so. And I’m grateful that I have small feet and hands.

The end.

Dear Gratitude Journal :

The day was bright and cheerful; I can feel the quiet energy of the plants and trees grateful for the return of the sun. I’m grateful I was able to go into town today. I haven’t been there since the pandemic began. So many For Rent signs, shuttered restaurants, empty parking lots. A very different life than last year, but every end is a new beginning. This is no different. And, I’m grateful for film, filmmakers, storytellers, and artists. Since the time of cave paintings — the world needs art.

The end.
